Looking to join for Fall 2008?
ALPHA PHI OMEGA is USC's premier co-ed community service-based leadership fraternity, derived from the ideals of the Boys Scouts of America. All undergraduate and graduate students of any major are invited to rush.
You are invited to attend our Fall 2008 rush events to gain an insight into how we develop leadership, promote friendship, and provide service. Also discover why APO was voted as last year’s “Most Spirited Organization”! This is your time to get information on the fraternity as a whole, and learn more about the brothers of which you could possibly be joining. Even if you are unsure of your ability or willingness to pledge a fraternity, you're free to come out and see if it's interesting and fun. There is no obligation to join even after attending rush events.
I would really like everyone to wear letters/APO t-shirts to the Friends and Neighbors Day Event as well as to the events during rush week so that we can get our name out there and make our presence on campus known!
Thanks team! Jackie

Person Hours
On the left hand side there is now a stat that keeps track of the person hours worked over the semester. Of course this could go up or down in actually depending on the events themselves and how long we were actually there, but it's definitely closer than, say, guessing.

Section Website!
Please check out the Section website for registration details, it's going to be a great event!
APO needs a driver to transport him/herself and 4 other brothers to Union Rescue Mission this coming Monday, March 5th. You'll still get credit for coming to the meeting in the membership tally, and you'll get an extra hour of service!
All you have to do is meet behind Leavey at 5:15 PM, drive the short distance to downtown and park in their free parking lot, do some great service for the homeless alongside your brothers, and then drive back to campus by about 8:15 PM.
Please sign up on the website (you won't be on the waitlist like it indicates) or email Cambria at odle@usc.edu if you can help drive and earn an extra hour of service!

Website updates
Hey guys,
I've taken out the email field in the event signup so no one should complain about filling it in anymore. It will now go to whatever email you are registered under, and you'll be receiving an email for every single event you sign up for. joy. I hope you are all happy, because while doing this i realized that the site needs a lot of overhauling, or "under the hood" work. Mostly Data(base) normalization, etc. So yeah, Thanks guys... Thanks.

yeah, look at that side of the page and you'll see a nifty "top 5" list of hour getters. i think i'm on top as i write this, which is awesome. Also, there is an hours page listed on the left hand side so you can track how many hours you have. Note that this simply counts what you're signed up for, and is not 100% accurate, but a good judge. So sign up for your events and you don't have to bother anyone about hours!

Lots of new items!
So There are a lot of new features on the site now, from pics to driver signups, to the all new all "announcements" page, and link on the left hand side. The site now has it's own icon, so fi you're using Firefox to view this page, you'll see a miniature Tommy Trojan head in the URL bar, as well as under your bookmarks.
If you are a pledge and you'd like to earn a leadership point, contact me (mike gangl) and we can work something out, i'm looking for 2 volunteers.

Used Cell Phone Drive
The tabling on Trousdale is done, but we are still collecting cell phones until Monday, April 10. So if you or anyone you know has old cell phones, bring them to the meeting!
About 3/4 of the people I talk to do indeed have at least one old cell phone to donate, but those numbers aren't reflected in our collection so far. Let's continue to get the word out.

Proper service attire!
Please remember that whenever attending a service event, functionality should be paramount--unfortunately, comfort comes a distance second. This means that you should always wear CLOSED TOE SHOES and garments that are fit for wear and tear. Frequently, they won't let people work if they are dressed improperly, and I'd hate for that to happen to you. Thanks!
